Frequently Asked Questions — Home Child Care Learning Hub

Question 1

Are workshops available across Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Online workshops and resources are available to home child care providers across Canada. Live online events will show the scheduled time in full, including the time zone, so participants can confirm the corresponding time in their own province or territory. In-person training availability will depend on the location and event arrangements.

Question 2

Are workshops for licensed and independent providers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Home Child Care Learning Hub serves both licensed and independent home child care providers. Workshop descriptions will identify the intended audience and explain whether any content is designed for a particular type of provider, agency or professional role.

Question 3

Will participants receive certificates?

Accepted Answer

A certificate of completion will be provided for workshops that clearly state that a certificate is included. Participants must complete the stated workshop requirements before a certificate is issued. Requirements may include completing all lessons, attending the live session, submitting an activity, completing a quiz or meeting another requirement listed on the workshop page.

Question 4

Are workshops recorded?

Accepted Answer

Most recorded workshops will be offered as self-paced online learning. For live webinars and seminars, recording availability will vary. The event listing will clearly state whether a recording is included, how long it will remain available and whether participants must attend live to receive a certificate.

Question 5

Are refunds available?

Accepted Answer

Refund eligibility depends on the type of workshop, event or digital resource purchased. The applicable cancellation and refund terms will be shown before registration or purchase. Participants should review the policy carefully before completing payment. Digital products and immediately accessible self-paced content may have different refund conditions from scheduled live events.

Question 6

Can agencies book private training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Licensed home child care agencies, provider groups, community organizations and early learning organizations may request private webinars, professional development days, multi-part training series, new-provider orientation, customized workshops, conference presentations or in-person seminars. Visit the Agency & Group Training page to request a proposal.

Question 7

Are workshops province-specific?

Accepted Answer

Most workshops provide practical education and general Canadian home child care guidance. Provincial and territorial requirements can differ. When a workshop contains information specific to a particular province or territory, this will be clearly stated in the workshop description. Participants remain responsible for confirming the current legislation, regulations, licensing rules, agency requirements and public health expectations that apply to their own location and program.

Question 8

Are CEUs or professional learning hours guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

No. A workshop certificate may show the workshop title and completed learning time, but this does not automatically guarantee that the training will be accepted as continuing education units, professional learning hours or mandatory training by every employer, agency, college, association, regulator or government body. Participants should confirm acceptance requirements with the organization responsible for recognizing their professional development before registering.

Question 9

What technology is required?

Accepted Answer

For self-paced workshops, participants will generally need a reliable internet connection, an email address and a computer, tablet or compatible mobile device. A PDF reader may be needed to open downloadable workbooks and resources. Live online workshops may also require access to Zoom or another listed video-conferencing platform, along with working speakers or headphones. Any additional technology requirements will be included on the event page.

Question 10

How are certificates issued?

Accepted Answer

Certificates are issued after the participant completes all stated workshop requirements. Depending on the workshop platform, the certificate may be available for immediate download or may be sent electronically by email. Participants must enter their name and email address accurately during registration because this information may be used on the certificate. Participants should download and safely store their certificates for their own professional records.

Question 11

What is the difference between self-paced and live online workshops?

Accepted Answer

Self-paced workshops contain recorded lessons and materials that participants complete on their own schedule within the stated access period. Live online workshops take place on a scheduled date and time through Zoom or another listed platform. Each workshop page will clearly identify the delivery method before registration.
